More YoungLife Fun

In the past few weeks, YoungLife has served up even more fun for Lara. Her friendships have become stronger as we near her departure date in just two months.

Sunday, about 10 girls from YoungLife gathered at our house after church at Mission Community Church It was also a birthday celebration for Erin! I made Brunch for the girls, including crepes with various fillings like strawberries, blueberries, bananas and nutella…along with scrambled eggs & ham, yogurt and granola and coffee cake. From there… they hit the poolside deck for some sun, fun, nail polishing and giggles! It’s nice to know that both Lara and Brittany have a solid core of Christian girlfriends they can do anything with!

Saturday, a group of YoungLife kids went hiking in the Superstition Mountains east of town. They gathered at a local grocery store, carpooled to one of the hiking trails and tackled the trail! When they got to a resting point towards the end/top of the trail, they shared some Bible readings and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. It was a good opportunity for Lara to experience another part of the Phoenix desert and spend time with friends. She also brought her camera along and snapped many pictures I posted below. Other pictures were taken with the kids’ phones and shared on Facebook….so I stole them from there.

And then a couple weeks ago, as they prepared for a huge YoungLife Food Fight, they got covered in flour! They were making flour bombs with tissue….but I think more flour ended up on them! It makes for some great photos! Lara was taking the pictures!  The next night, they had a Food Fight that was huge and included pools of slime with chicken feet and squid in them! Eeeeewwwwww! I thought is was disgusting but they had a blast! Lara even prepared for the end result by putting plastic bags and pool towels in Travis’ car….so they wouldn’t get it all wet and disgusting inside! The

Enjoy the photos…because Lara and Brittany are certainly enjoying YoungLife!
